The first larger-than-life-sized bronze of Frederick Law Olmsted created for North Carolina Arboretum

GLENSIDE, Pa. -- March 22, 2016 -- Philadelphia-based sculptor Zenos Frudakis has created the first statue of 19th century Renaissance man Frederick Law Olmsted. Commissioned by The North Carolina Arboretum, the monument to the man popularly known as the father of American landscape architecture, who was also a reporter for the fledgling New York Times, a social critic and public administrator, will be unveiled at a ceremony on April 22, in the Arboretum’s Blue Ridge Court in Asheville, N.C.

Famed Lawyer Clarence Darrow to be Memorialized for the First Time at the Site of Legendary Scopes “Monkey” Trial

PHILADELPHIA -- Feb. 11, 2016 -- An artist-led initiative by internationally-renowned, Philadelphia-based sculptor Zenos Frudakis is now underway to create and erect a sculpture of famed defense attorney Clarence Darrow on the grounds of the Rhea County Courthouse in Dayton, Tenn., the site of the 1925 Scopes “Monkey” Trial. The 7-foot high statue of Darrow on a 3-foot high base, officially approved by the Rhea County Executive’s Office, will be a companion piece to the existing statue of lawyer and three-time presidential candidate, William Jennings Bryan that has stood in front of the famous courthouse since 2005.

Intellectual Father of UT Southwestern Medical School Honored in Bronze

DALLAS -- March 16, 2015 -- In a ceremony on the campus of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, a statue was unveiled of Donald Wayne Seldin, M.D., UT Southwestern Professor and Chairman Emeritus of Internal Medicine, UT System Professor of Internal Medicine, and the William Buchanan Chair in Internal Medicine. Dr. Seldin is widely revered as one of the greatest chairs of Internal Medicine in American medical history, and considered the intellectual father of UT Southwestern Medical School.

The N.C. Arboretum Announces Olmsted Sculpture Commission
