General Yarborough, portrait sculpture

Lieutenant General William Pelham Yarborough (May 12, 1912 - December 6, 2005) portrait bronze bust by artist Zenos Frudakis. Live size bronze sculpture of Yarborough, United States Army officer and graduate of West Point, was commissioned by Yarborough's friends and paid for by Sandhill Rotary, Pinehurst, North Carolina. The sculpture was commissioned in 2004 for the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayettville, North Carolina. It was sculpted from life and includes General Yarborough's special knife. The General loved this portrait of himself. The pose is from the photo of his conversing with President Kennedy about permission to use the Green Beret. The bust was completed in 2005.
