Nina Simone
Nina Simone (February 21, 1933 – April 21, 2003) sculpture honors the musician's life and works. Her daughter and Broadway actress, Lisa Simone Kelly posed for sculptor Zenos Frudakis. The over-life-size bronze memorial includes her ashes within a sculpted heart. Nina Simone's memorial sculpture resides in the Nina Simone Plaza in her home town of Tryon, North Carolina.
